Most beginner creators make very little: the estimated median OnlyFans creator account earns about $180 a year, and the average across all creator accounts was about $1,240 in the financial year to November 2025. Creators who answered a 2025 survey reported about $16,000 on average in their first year, but that is a self-reported, non random sample of active creators and sits far above what most accounts earn.
All three numbers are true about something different. Here is what each measures, and what a realistic first 90 days looks like.
| Figure | Value | What it is |
|---|---|---|
| Total paid to creators, FY2025 | About $6.29 billion | Audited filing of OnlyFans’ parent company |
| Average per creator account | About $1,240 a year | $6.29 billion divided by 5.06 million accounts, including inactive ones |
| Median per creator account | About $180 a year | Estimate from third party panel studies |
| Top 10% of accounts | About 73% of payouts | Estimate |
| Survey median, all tenures | $30,000 a year | SWR Data, 550+ US and UK creators, self-reported |
| Survey, under one year | About $16,000 a year | Same survey, self-reported average |
The platform figures come from onlyfansstatistics.com (September 2026), which notes that only the total is audited and that dividing by all registered accounts includes dormant ones. The survey was reported by JRL Charts (3 March 2026): its respondents chose to answer, and creators who earn more are more likely to treat it as work and reply. The honest reading: a typical account earns very little, and active creators who stick with it earn much more than a typical account. Neither is a promise. Compare the wider picture in how much you can make and how much creators earn.
In the same self-reported survey, creators with five years or more reported about $111,000 on average, against about $16,000 for those under one year. Experience correlates with income in that sample, but the survey cannot show cause: people who earn little tend to stop, so long tenure partly reflects who stayed.
If your first month brings only a few dollars, you are close to the typical account, not failing. The useful question is whether anyone bought at all, and what. One sale of a pay-per-view tells you more than a hundred new followers. If nobody bought, check three things before you change your content: did every subscriber get a welcome message, did you offer anything to buy, and did the people you promoted to ever see your page. A clear plan for each step is in moving from Instagram to a fan page.
| Period | Focus | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Days 1 to 30 | Verification, setup, first posts, first promotion | A handful of subscribers; often nothing paid out yet |
| Days 31 to 60 | Welcome messages, first pay-per-view, first customs | You learn which fans buy and what they buy |
| Days 61 to 90 | Raise prices slowly, repeat what sold, drop what did not | A first sense of your monthly range |
Timing matters for cash too. On HerFans each sale is pending for 30 days and part is held as a reserve for a while, so money from your first week is usually available from about day 31. Once identity is approved and you reach $10, payouts arrive within 3 business days of the request. Put the first 30 days in order with the first 30 days checklist, and set money aside for taxes in your first year.
