Fansly takes 20% of everything you earn, the same as OnlyFans. If you are already bringing your own fans, that is a fifth of your income paying for an audience you found yourself.

Fansly charges creators a 20% commission on subscriptions, tips, pay-per-view and customs, exactly matching OnlyFans. The main reasons creators look for a Fansly alternative are that fee, the small buyer base compared to OnlyFans, and payout thresholds that climb for wire transfers and crypto. The alternatives worth comparing are OnlyFans for reach, Fanvue and LoyalFans for a similar product, and HerFans, which runs the same subscription model at a flat 10% with no seller subscription. Which one is right depends on a single question: do you bring your own fans, or does the platform bring them to you?
We are one of the alternatives on this list, so here is our bias stated plainly. Below is where Fansly genuinely beats us, and where it does not.
| Platform | Creator fee | Best for | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fansly | 20% | Tiers, tags and niche or cosplay content | The same 20% as OnlyFans, with a fraction of the audience |
| OnlyFans | 20% | Reach. Fans already know how to pay | No real discovery. You still bring the fans |
| Fanvue | Lower than 20% on early earnings | Creators wanting a cleaner, newer product | Small audience, and terms change |
| LoyalFans | Around 20% | Video calls and extra monetization formats | Smaller still, and a busier interface |
| HerFans | 10% flat | Women creators who bring their own fans | No browsing buyers. You drive the traffic |
Fees as published in July 2026. Verify before you plan around them, and be suspicious of any comparison that quotes a competitor’s pricing without a date.
The fee is the headline, but it is rarely the trigger on its own. What tips people over is doing the arithmetic on where their fans actually came from. If your subscribers found you on Reddit, X or TikTok, then Fansly did not introduce you to a single one of them, and it is still taking a fifth of every dollar they spend. On $2,000 a month that is $400, or $4,800 a year.
The second reason is scale. Fansly asks the same 20% as OnlyFans while sending you a fraction of the traffic, which is a hard trade to justify. The third is practical: payout minimums rise sharply for wire transfers and crypto, so creators outside the easy e-wallet countries wait longer to touch their money.
It has an audience and we do not, which is not a small thing. Fansly has real in-platform discovery through tags and search, so a fan browsing the site can find you without you doing anything, and that is genuinely valuable when you are starting from zero. Its tier system is excellent, and free follower accounts are a smart funnel that we would not pretend to have invented.
So if you have no following at all, a platform with browsing fans is worth more to you than a lower fee. Ten percent of nothing is nothing. Come back to the fee question when you have an audience, because that is when it starts costing you real money.
Judge any alternative on four things, in this order: what percentage it takes and whether there is also a monthly charge, whether it can sell everything you sell (subscriptions, tips, pay-per-view, paid DMs and customs, because a platform that only does one of those caps your income), how fast and how cheaply you can withdraw, and what happens to your privacy. On that last point, look for watermarking, blocking, discreet billing and the ability to trade under a creator name rather than your legal one.
HerFans runs the same subscription model as Fansly at a flat 10%, with no seller subscription, so a quiet month costs you nothing. We are built specifically for women creators, and the privacy tools are the default rather than a setting you have to find. What we cannot give you is a crowd of fans already browsing, so bring yours.
