We run a competing creator platform, so read this knowing our bias. That is also why we pulled ManyVids’ own commission article rather than copying the affiliate roundups, and why the numbers below differ from the ones you have probably read.

ManyVids is legit. It has been selling creator video since 2014, verifies performers with government ID, issues US tax paperwork and pays every Wednesday at a $50 minimum. The catch is commercial, not safety related: ManyVids does not pay one rate. Its own published card pays 80% on customs, tips, store items and Club, and only 60% on Vids, Vid Bundles, contest votes and paid inbox messages. Vids are the product the platform is named after, and they pay the lower number.
Almost every article that describes ManyVids as "80/20, like OnlyFans" is describing half the rate card. We checked the current one in August 2026, on ManyVids’ own help center, and it was last updated on 1 July 2026.
Yes. ManyVids is a real, long-running company rather than a scam. It launched in 2014, verifies every creator with government-issued ID, requires US creators to file a W9 before they can add a payment method, and has paid on a published weekly schedule for years. Fans buying from you never see your legal name or address. Nothing we found suggests creators do not get paid what the rate card says they are owed.
The "is ManyVids a scam" searches mostly surface two unrelated things. One is domain trust-score pages that grade the website and say nothing about creator earnings. The other is buyer-side chargeback and piracy complaints, which exist on every clip site. Neither is a claim that ManyVids withholds creator money.
The criticism that does hold up is that the economics are harder to read than a flat fee, and the number most creators have in their head before signing up is wrong.
It depends entirely on what you sell. This is the current card as published by ManyVids in its Creator Commission Payout Percentages article, last updated 1 July 2026:
| What you sell | You keep | ManyVids keeps |
|---|---|---|
| Custom Vids | 80% | 20% |
| Tips | 80% | 20% |
| Store Items | 80% | 20% |
| Club | 80% | 20% |
| Vids | 60% | 40% |
| Vid Bundles | 60% | 40% |
| Pay To Open (inbox) | 60% | 40% |
| Contest Votes | 60% | 40% |
| MV Live tokens | $0.08 per token | See the promo note below |
Two rows on that card appear in almost no third-party article about ManyVids. Vid Bundles and Pay To Open are both on the 60% side. If you have read a ManyVids rate card that lists Membership, Text Me, Vid Chat, Call Me, Fund Me, Make it Rain or Tribute Me, you have read an old one. Those categories are not on the current card at all.
ManyVids also states plainly that percentages are subject to change and tells creators to re-check the article. That is more transparency than FanCentro, which publishes no rate at all, and it is a reason to look at the card yourself rather than trust any review, including this one.
Vids are the core product. Here is the same gross vid income under ManyVids’ 60% and under a platform that pays 80% on everything, using nothing but arithmetic:
| Gross vid sales a month | ManyVids at 60% | An 80% platform | Gap per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| $500 | $300 | $400 | $1,200 |
| $1,000 | $600 | $800 | $2,400 |
| $2,500 | $1,500 | $2,000 | $6,000 |
| $5,000 | $3,000 | $4,000 | $12,000 |
Turned around, clearing $1,000 a month in take-home from vids alone means selling about $1,667 of video on ManyVids, against $1,250 on an 80% platform. That is roughly a third more selling for the same paycheck.
Nobody sells only one thing, so the number that matters is your blended rate. Take a creator grossing $2,000 a month, split the way a working ManyVids page often is:
| Revenue source | Gross | Rate | You keep |
|---|---|---|---|
| Vids | $1,200 | 60% | $720 |
| Custom Vids | $400 | 80% | $320 |
| Tips | $250 | 80% | $200 |
| Pay To Open | $150 | 60% | $90 |
| Total | $2,000 | 66.5% | $1,330 |
That creator keeps 66.5%, not 80%. The same $2,000 on a flat 80% platform returns $1,600, a difference of $270 a month or $3,240 a year. On HerFans, at a flat 10% fee, it returns $1,800. The lesson is not that ManyVids is dishonest, because it publishes the card. It is that the blend is what you get paid, and vids drag it down.
No. Paid inbox messages on ManyVids sell through Pay To Open, and Pay To Open is on the 60% row. That puts ManyVids well behind the subscription platforms on the single fastest-growing income stream in creator work:
| Platform | Paid message rate |
|---|---|
| HerFans | 90% |
| OnlyFans | 80% |
| Fansly | 80% |
| LoyalFans | 80% |
| ManyVids (Pay To Open) | 60% |
| SextPanther | 60% |
ManyVids charges the same commission on a paid DM as SextPanther, a platform built only for paid messaging. If messages are a meaningful slice of your income, that row alone is worth a look at the ManyVids alternatives compared on fees.
One token converts to $0.08 of earnings. ManyVids attaches a footnote to that figure, and the footnote is the interesting part: the $0.08 rate reflects a promotional payout structure for MV Live, described in its own help article as the "Live 80% Payout promo". It is a promotional rate, not a permanent one, and ManyVids does not publish what it reverts to.
Some arithmetic of ours, clearly labeled as ours. If $0.08 represents an 80% payout, members are paying $0.10 a token. Should the Live rate ever fall back to the 60% that Vids pay, the same token would convert at $0.06, a 25% pay cut for identical work. That is not a ManyVids announcement and it may never happen. It is the reason to know your rate is promotional before you build your week around it.
For context on the cam side, Chaturbate tokens are worth about $0.05 to the model. At $0.08 during the promo, MV Live pays 60% more per token, which is a real advantage while it lasts. Our page on how much you can make on Chaturbate works through the token math there.
This is the fourth platform where we have found a headline creator rate that turns out to be promotional, after Fanvue at 85%, SextPanther at 80% on messages, and now ManyVids on Live tokens. Treat any advertised rate as promotional until the terms say otherwise.
Weekly, on Wednesdays, and the schedule is published clearly. Earnings accrue from 12:00 AM Wednesday to 11:59 PM Tuesday UTC, then sit for seven days in arrears, so you are paid roughly a week after you earn. Payment dates falling on a holiday move to the next business day. The minimum is $50 and you can raise your own minimum if you would rather take fewer, larger transfers and pay fewer fees.
| Method | Processing | Minimum | Fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Direct Deposit | 5 business days | $50 | $2.00 US, $5.50 international |
| Paxum prepaid card | 3 business days | $50 | $1.00 transfer fee |
| Cosmopayment prepaid card | 3 business days | $50 | Set by Cosmopayment |
Two details matter specifically to US creators. Direct deposit to a US bank is supported, and the fee is $2.00 rather than the international $5.50. But you must submit a W9 before you can add a payment method at all, so do that on day one rather than discovering it when your first $50 clears. ManyVids also locks payout method changes for 24 hours around the Wednesday run, roughly 7:45 PM Eastern Tuesday to 7:45 PM Eastern Wednesday.
Weekly beats a lot of the field. LoyalFans and SextPanther pay twice a month, OnlyFans holds about seven days then takes three to five business days to a US bank, and Patreon pays monthly. Only Fansly, at daily payouts with a $5 minimum, is faster.
It depends on what you sell. ManyVids is one of the few large platforms where a fan who has never heard of you can find and buy a clip, and that discovery traffic is worth real money to somebody starting from zero. Customs, tips, store items and Club all pay 80%, which is competitive. If your income leans toward customs and physical store sales, the blended rate lands close to the industry norm.
It is a poor fit if your business is a back catalog of vids. Selling video at 60% on a site whose brand is built on video is the strange part of the deal, and it costs a creator grossing $2,500 a month in vids about $6,000 a year against an 80% platform. It is also a weak choice if paid messaging is your engine, because 60% on Pay To Open is a specialist sexting rate on a general platform.
The practical answer for a lot of creators is both: use ManyVids as a storefront that brings strangers in, and keep the subscribers and the messaging where the rate is better. Our comparison of what every creator platform actually pays lays the whole field out, and selling videos online covers the mechanics wherever you land.
Creator feedback clusters into a few consistent themes. The praise is for discovery and for the weekly payout rhythm: ManyVids sends buyer traffic that most subscription platforms do not, and being paid every Wednesday makes budgeting easier than twice-monthly cycles. The complaints are about the 40% cut on vids, about how much promotional work the platform expects through contests and rankings, and about support response times.
Be careful with the glowing roundups. Most "best ManyVids review" articles carry a referral link and earn when you sign up, which is exactly why so many of them repeat "80/20" without checking the card. We are a competitor with our own incentive, so the only things in this review worth relying on are the ones you can verify yourself: the commission article on ManyVids’ help center, the payout article, and the arithmetic in the tables above.
A $20 clip returns $12 on ManyVids and $16 on an 80% platform. Creators who set prices from an OnlyFans habit quietly underprice their whole catalog. Work backward from what you need to keep, then set the sticker price.
Add up what you sell in each category and weight it. A typical $2,000 month split across vids, customs, tips and paid DMs blends to 66.5%, not the 80% in the headlines. Recalculate it whenever your mix changes.
US creators cannot add a payment method until the W9 is submitted, so the paperwork gates the money rather than following it. Doing it on signup day removes a week of delay you would otherwise hit at your first $50.
ManyVids labels the $0.08 conversion as part of a Live 80% payout promo and does not publish what it becomes afterward. Promotional rates are normal in this industry and they do end. Plan your Live schedule on the assumption it changes.
