Affiliates, explained simply

Affiliates bring you new fans. You choose what they earn: from 10 percent of your part of what those fans buy from you, for life. No sales, no cost.

Become a creator

Who is an affiliate?

A person who promotes you on the internet: on their social accounts, a website, a forum or a group chat. They share a personal link to your page. When someone comes through that link, signs up and buys from you, that fan counts as theirs.

What does it cost me?

A rate you choose yourself: 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50 percent (10 by default), taken of your part after the HerFans fee, and only on what the fans that affiliate brought buy from you. Nothing on your other fans. If an affiliate brings nobody who buys, you pay nothing. No fee to join and no monthly cost.

A tip: a higher rate brings more promoters, because affiliates see the rates of all creators in one place and choose whom to promote.

An example: a fan buys something for $10

The fan came to you through an affiliate's link.

Your rate: 10 percent

The fan pays
$10
HerFans fee, 20 percent as always
$2
The affiliate, 10 percent of your $8
$0.80
You receive
$7.20

Your rate: 20 percent

The fan pays
$10
HerFans fee, 20 percent as always
$2
The affiliate, 20 percent of your $8
$1.60
You receive
$6.40

Without the affiliate this fan would not have found you, so what you receive is money you would not have had at all. A fan who finds you on their own costs you nothing extra: from the same $10 you keep $8, as always.

For how long?

For life: for as long as that fan buys from you. An affiliate who knows they earn on their fan for good is more willing to keep promoting you, and you only ever pay on sales that would not exist without them.

Refunds and chargebacks

If a fan gets a refund or disputes a payment with their bank, the affiliate's commission on that purchase is taken back, also after a payout. An affiliate is paid only 60 days after the sale, later than you, so most refunds arrive before any money leaves.

Joining and leaving

  1. Press Join the affiliate program on the card in your dashboard, or open Promotion in your menu, then Affiliates.
  2. Pick your rate, choose whether every affiliate may take your link at once or only the ones you accept, tick On and the agreement, and press Save.
  3. To leave, untick On in the same place and press Save. From that moment affiliates earn nothing more from you, also on fans they brought before.

Blocking an affiliate

Under Promotion, Affiliates you see everyone who promotes you, with their visits, sign ups, purchases and commission. Press Block next to a name and that person stops earning from you at once and cannot take your link again. Pause stops them for a while, Resume brings them back.

How is this different from an OnlyFans agency?

A typical agency

  • Takes 30 to 50 percent of everything you earn, including fans you found yourself.
  • Often asks for your password and writes to your fans as you.
  • Usually a contract with a notice period.

An affiliate on HerFans

  • The rate you choose, from 10 percent of your part, only on what the fans they brought buy.
  • Never gets into your account and never writes as you.
  • No contract. Block anyone, leave whenever you want.

The program today

Creators in the program: 2. Affiliates who promote them: 0. These are counts, not a promise of earnings: what an affiliate brings depends on who promotes you and how.

Frequently asked questions

Does an affiliate see my personal data?

No. An affiliate sees only the numbers for their own link: visits, sign ups, purchases and their commission. They never see your legal name, your documents, your payout details, your messages or the names of your fans.

Can an affiliate post my paid content?

No. An affiliate may use only promotional material: your public photos and the teasers and texts you choose to give them. Your paid posts stay paid, and every paid file carries the buyer's mark, so a leak can be traced.

Do my fans pay more because of an affiliate?

No. The fan pays your price, the same as everybody else. The affiliate's part comes out of your share of that one sale.

Does HerFans take a bigger fee?

No. The HerFans fee is 20 percent, as always. The program costs us nothing extra and earns us nothing extra.

Do I have to join?

No. It is your choice. The program is off until you switch it on, and you can switch it off again at any time.

Can I change my rate later?

Yes, at any time in your panel. A new rate counts for fans who arrive after the change. Fans already brought keep the rate of the day they arrived.

What happens if a fan gets a refund?

The affiliate's commission on that purchase is taken back. If it was already paid out, it is taken from the affiliate's next commissions. Only if there are none within 30 days is it charged to your balance, like the refund of your own sale. Our fee is never touched.

How do I report an affiliate who breaks the rules?

Block them in your panel first, so they stop earning from you at once. Then use the report form at the bottom of the affiliate terms page, with the link they used and where you saw it. We can block an affiliate on the whole site.
