We run a competing creator platform, so read this knowing our bias. It is also why we did not recycle a rate from another review. We read the JustForFans Terms of Use in full on 9 September 2026 and wrote down what the company actually commits to.

JustForFans is a real, long-running adult creator platform, and it is the best-known home for gay, queer and kink creators in this category. It is also the least transparent platform we have audited on the one number that decides your income. On 9 September 2026 we read the whole of the JustForFans Terms of Use, 31,197 characters of it, and the words commission, payout, minimum, withdraw and percent appear zero times each. The only percentage anywhere in the document is the 5% paid to members who refer new models.
We run a competing creator platform, so read this knowing our bias. That bias is also why we did not simply repeat a rate from another review. The three figures in circulation for JustForFans in 2026 are a 20% cut, a 30% cut, and an 85% payout on qualifying exclusive sales, and none of them traces back to a page JustForFans publishes. So instead of guessing, we wrote down what the company itself puts in writing, and what its own review record shows.
Yes. JustForFans is a legitimate adult subscription platform, not a scam. It has operated since 2018, the payout entity is JFF Publications, LLC, it runs a formal 2257 age-verification and record-keeping statement, and it publishes a subpoena compliance policy describing when it will release account information. Creators are paid by direct deposit, wire, Paxum and crypto. Those are the marks of a real company, not a fly-by-night site.
Legitimate and well documented are different tests, though, and JustForFans passes the first and fails the second. A platform can be entirely real and still not tell you what it charges you.
JustForFans does not publish a creator payout rate. We searched its full Terms of Use for every word a rate would have to appear next to, and found nothing: commission zero times, payout zero times, minimum zero times, withdraw zero times, percent zero times. There is exactly one percent sign in the entire document, and it belongs to the referral program: select members who sign up new models through a special link ’will earn 5% of a model’s net earnings (on subscriptions only) for at least one year’.
That is worth sitting with. JustForFans has written down, precisely, what it pays somebody for recruiting you. It has not written down what it pays you.

JustForFans holds a 2.0 out of 5 on Trustpilot across 23 reviews, and the profile is unclaimed, which means nobody at the company has ever responded to a single one. We read the 20 reviews on the first page: 17 of them are one star, one is four stars, and two are five stars. Not one review sits in the two or three star middle.
| Trustpilot record | JustForFans | FanCentro | LoyalFans | Fanvue |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Displayed score | 2.0 | 1.7 | 1.7 | 4.5 |
| Total reviews | 23 | 220 | 51 | 2,125 |
| Profile claimed | No | Yes | No | Yes |
| Replies to negatives | None | None in last 12 months | None | 77.9% |
| Middle band (2 and 3 star) | 0.0% of page one | Low | Low | 5.3% |
That barbell shape is not unique to JustForFans. Across six creator platforms and more than 6,300 Trustpilot reviews we have now read, the two and three star middle never rises above 15.6%. People either get paid and are happy or lose money and are furious. What separates platforms is not the average, it is whether anyone from the company answers. Fanvue replies to 77.9% of its negative reviews. JustForFans has replied to none of its 23, because it has never claimed the profile.
Twenty-three reviews is a small sample and we will not pretend otherwise. A 2.0 across 23 ratings is weaker evidence than a 4.5 across 2,125. It is still the only public review record the platform has.
JustForFans states its position in five words: ’We do not offer refunds.’ The clause continues, ’If you are unhappy with the content you have subscribed to, please inform the content creator.’ For a creator that is genuinely good news at first glance, because a platform that does not hand money back cannot hand back money you already earned.
The catch is that refusing refunds does not stop a card dispute. A fan who cannot get a refund from the site can still call their bank, and that is a chargeback, which costs you the sale and often a fee on top. JustForFans acknowledges this pressure in its own terms, and one of the first-page Trustpilot reviews from July 2026 is titled by a buyer who says scammers take the video and then charge back
| Who decides a refund | Policy | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| JustForFans | No refunds offered; fan is told to contact the creator | Disputes route around the platform to your bank |
| OnlyFans | Purchases final by default, refunds at platform discretion | You have no say either way |
| Fansly | Creator has full refund discretion | You decide, and you carry the decision |
| HerFans | Custom-request money is held on acceptance, released on delivery | Neither side can be stranded mid-order |
Not freely. The JustForFans Terms of Use contain a clause most creators never read until it matters: ’You may not remove all/most of your content while you still have subscribers, as this will lead to chargebacks.’ The commercial logic is obvious, because subscribers who paid for a library and find it emptied will dispute the charge. The effect on you is still a restriction on your own work.
Read it next to the exit terms elsewhere in this category and the shape of the decision changes. Fansly charges a $5 per month inactive fee out of your earnings after twelve months of no activity. OnlyFans lets you delete content but gives you no refund control at all. Whatever platform you build on, find the exit clause before you need it, because that is the clause that decides whether your audience is an asset you own or an audience you rent.
One more term worth knowing: JustForFans sets a liquidated damages figure of $25,000 for violating its restrictions on misusing the site, its advertisements and its profiles. It also blocks subscribers accessing from Sweden from viewing live cam shows, which is a reminder that geography quietly shapes who can pay you.
Reasonably, with the usual caveats for this industry. JustForFans runs 2257 compliance, requires that every person depicted be verified as 18 or over, and states plainly that it takes no responsibility for supervising publisher content or activity. Its terms describe the relationship as pure hosting: JFF provides a platform for creators to self-publish and collect subscription fees, and disclaims any agency, employment or joint venture relationship. You are an independent business using their pipes, and your taxes, fees and regulatory costs are yours.
What the terms do not give you is a written promise about your money. There is no stated minimum payout, no stated payout schedule, and no stated rate. If those things change, you will find out when your balance does.
Audience. This is the part most competing reviews undersell, and it is the strongest reason to be on JustForFans. It has been the default subscription home for gay and queer male creators since 2018, it hosts the Tom of Finland presence, it runs a charitable giving program, and it carries kink and fetish audiences that other platforms serve thinly. If that is your audience, the fans are already there, and a slightly worse fee on a platform where buyers exist beats a better fee on a platform where they do not.
That is a real advantage and we are not going to argue with it. What we would argue is that it is not a reason to accept an unwritten rate forever.
Percentages hide the size of this decision, so here it is in money. The industry default is 20% to the platform. HerFans charges a flat 20%. If JustForFans is really taking 20%, it matches the default. If it is taking 30%, which is one of the two figures reported in 2026, it is the most expensive platform in the category.
| Monthly sales | At 20% you keep (HerFans) | At 30% you keep | 20% vs 30% per year |
|---|---|---|---|
| $500 | $400 | $350 | $600 |
| $1,000 | $800 | $700 | $1,200 |
| $3,000 | $2,400 | $2,100 | $3,600 |
| $5,000 | $4,000 | $3,500 | $6,000 |
The reason the unpublished rate matters is right there in the right-hand column. Between the 20% and 30% readings of JustForFans, a creator selling $3,000 a month is looking at a $3,600 a year swing, and cannot tell from the company’s own documents which one applies to her.
Yes. JustForFans earnings are self-employment income for a US creator. You owe federal income tax plus 15.3% self-employment tax on net earnings above $400, and you can deduct the platform’s cut, your equipment, your home office at the $5 per square foot simplified rate up to 300 square feet, and mileage at 72.5 cents. For tax year 2026 the 1099-NEC threshold rose to $2,000 and the 1099-K threshold reverted to more than $20,000 and more than 200 transactions. You owe the tax whether or not a form arrives.
Watch the gross-versus-net trap. A 1099-K reports what fans paid, before the platform’s cut. If fans paid $30,000 and the platform kept 20%, the form says $30,000 and you deduct the $6,000 yourself.
Use it if your audience is gay, queer or kink, because that audience is genuinely concentrated there and no fee argument beats buyers who already exist. Ask for the rate in writing before your first payout, and keep your own record of every sale, because the platform has not committed to a number you can hold it to. And do not make it the only place your audience can find you. The clause that stops you removing your content while you have subscribers is a reminder of who controls the relationship, and a link-in-bio you own is the cheapest insurance there is.
HerFans charges a flat 20%, so you keep 80%. It is on our pricing page. JustForFans mentions no creator rate at all in its 31,197-character terms of use, and the three figures other reviews quote differ by up to $5,400 a year on $3,000 a month of sales.
JustForFans terms say you may not remove all or most of your content while you still have subscribers. We do not restrict what you take down. Every photo and video you upload also carries a permanent watermark baked into the file, not a viewer overlay, so a leak stays traceable to the account that leaked it.
Subscriptions, paid posts, paid messages and tips all pay 80%. There is no seller plan, no rate card that changes by product, and no monthly cost, so a quiet month costs you nothing.
Sign up in seconds with email, pick a creator name, and set up your profile. No upfront cost.
Upload photos and videos, set a monthly subscription price, and lock premium posts behind pay-per-view.
Fans subscribe, tip and unlock your content. You ask for a payout from your dashboard once your available balance reaches the published minimum. Each sale is pending for 30 days, the period in which refunds and most card disputes arrive, and 10% of it is held as a reserve until day 120. For a sale paid by card, the reserve is held longer, up to day 206, because our card processor keeps its own reserve on that payment for 26 weeks and it is released to you once it has been returned to us.
