Most refusals come down to one photo or one mismatched detail. Here is what Fansly actually asks for, how to fix each piece, and how to keep earning in the meantime.

A denied Fansly application almost always comes down to the verification material, not to you. Fansly asks for an Ondato identity check, clear photos of the front and back of your ID, a photo holding the ID with a handwritten sign, and a short video, and any blurry, cropped or mismatched piece can sink the whole file. Fix the one thing that failed and reapply. If you want to start selling while you wait, HerFans has open signup for women 18 and over, and a person reads your ID.
Everything below about Fansly comes from its own help center, read in October 2026, not from forum guesses. HerFans is our platform, so weigh what we say about it with that in mind and check the pricing page for the numbers.
Fansly does not publish a list of refusal reasons, but its application guide makes clear which parts have to be right. You must be at least 18 and legally an adult in your country, your email must be verified, and every detail, including your ID and address, has to meet its eligibility rules. In practice the refusals cluster around the verification material: a photo with glare or a cut-off corner, a handwritten sign missing your legal name, the date or the phrase “For Fansly”, a video where your face is not fully visible, or a name and birth date that do not match the document.
A smaller group fails for reasons no retake will fix. Fansly says some locations may be restricted by international sanctions. Its rules ban photorealistic AI content outright, and an agency applying for several people has to apply as the sole owner and verify every performer. The table below pairs each requirement with the mistake that usually breaks it.
| What Fansly asks for | Where applications usually go wrong | What to fix before you reapply |
|---|---|---|
| You are 18+ and an adult in your country | Birth date typed differently from the ID | Enter every detail exactly as printed on the document |
| Identity and age check with Ondato | Glare, a cropped corner or an expired card | Shoot the front and back flat, in daylight, all four corners visible |
| Photo of you holding the ID and a handwritten sign | Sign missing your legal name, the date or the words “For Fansly” | Write all three, large and legible, and keep your face uncovered |
| Short video holding the ID and the sign | Face turned away, too dark, or the sign unreadable | Face the camera fully, good light, hold still for a few seconds |
| Your country is eligible | A location restricted by international sanctions | Nothing to fix on Fansly. Ask the applications team to confirm |
| Real legal identity, no photorealistic AI | A photorealistic AI persona or face-swapped content | Fansly will not accept it at all, and neither will HerFans |
| One owner of the account | An agency applying for several models on one account | Each performer verifies herself. Co-performers verify separately |
Yes. Fansly’s help center says that if your initial application is denied you may reapply, after reviewing your details to make sure they meet the eligibility requirements. Read the email from the applications team first, because it is the only place the reason appears, and check your spam folder. If you open a brand new account instead, you go through the whole application again from the start.
Before you resubmit, change any temporary username like user234234823482348, which Fansly itself suggests updating before you apply. Then redo only the piece that failed. Sending the same photos again usually gets the same answer.
You need a Fansly account with a verified email, a government-issued photo ID, and about fifteen minutes in good light. The application has two stages. First you confirm your identity and age with Ondato, Fansly’s verification partner, and you are redirected back to Fansly when it passes. Then you fill in the application form and upload three things:
Once approved, Fansly asks for tax documentation before your first withdrawal. You can earn without it, but you cannot withdraw until the forms are in.
Fansly does not publish a review time. Its guide says it reviews applications “as quickly as possible” and that updates, questions and the final decision arrive by email. If you are stuck at the Ondato stage with an error message, Fansly asks you to email its support team with that exact message rather than start over.
If the wait is costing you sales you already lined up, there is no rule against getting verified somewhere else at the same time. Neither Fansly nor HerFans asks you to be exclusive.
The two platforms ask for similar proof of who you are. The difference is in what happens around the check and what you are paid afterwards.

|---|---|---|
| Who can apply | 18+ and an adult where you live, most countries | Women 18+, by open signup |
| Identity check | Ondato check, then ID photos, a handwritten sign photo and a video | Government ID photos and a live camera check, read by a person |
| Told what failed? | Email updates from the applications team | On the phone during the check, with the exact photo to retake |
| Follower minimum | None published | None |
| AI content | Photorealistic AI banned, virtual personas allowed | All AI generated or AI edited content banned |
| Creator keeps | 80% | 80% (flat 20%) |
| Hold before withdrawal | 7 days | 30 days, plus a 10% reserve to day 120 |
| Payout methods | Vary by region. Paxum, ACH, SEPA, SWIFT, crypto | IBAN or PayPal in your own name |
| Minimum payout | $20 to $100 by method | $10 once your ID is approved |
Be clear about the trade. HerFans holds every sale for 30 days before you can withdraw it, against Fansly’s 7, and its content rules are stricter than Fansly’s in places: no alcohol on camera, no animals, and nobody in the frame who has not signed a consent release. What you get is a flat 20% with no seller plan, a person who reads your ID, and payouts to PayPal, which Fansly does not offer.
If Fansly approves you later, keep both. Many creators run two pages and point different audiences at each. Our comparison of sites like Fansly covers the other platforms worth a look, and if OnlyFans turned you down as well, our guide to an OnlyFans application rejected walks through its refusals the same way.

Fans subscribe, tip and unlock your content. You ask for a payout from your dashboard once your available balance reaches the published minimum. Each sale is pending for 30 days, the period in which refunds and most card disputes arrive, and 10% of it is held as a reserve until day 120. For a sale paid by card, the reserve is held longer, up to day 206, because our card processor keeps its own reserve on that payment for 26 weeks and it is released to you once it has been returned to us.
