An influencer should start a fan page only after checking three things: whether current or future brand contracts contain a morality clause that the page could trigger, whether she will keep full control of her account and money (no agency taking half), and which content line she is willing to keep for years (safe for work, suggestive within the law, or adult). If all three are settled, a fan page is a way to sell directly to people who already follow you. If any of them is not, it is fine to decide it is not for you.
The money can be real, but it is uneven. OnlyFans paid creators about $6.29 billion in its financial year to November 2025 across 5.06 million creator accounts, an average of about $1,240 per account (onlyfansstatistics.com, citing the audited filing of its parent company, September 2026). The same site estimates the median at about $180 a year, and most creators earn far less than the headline stories suggest. An existing audience helps, but it does not guarantee sales.
Many influencer contracts include a morality clause (also called a morals clause). Legal Cheek describes it as a clause that allows “termination of contract for behaviour considered morally wrong or damaging” (Legal Cheek Journal, 7 January 2026). Related reputational harm clauses can be triggered by potential damage to the brand even without misconduct. Wording is usually broad, which means the brand, not you, decides what counts.
Our guide to brand deal contracts covers the clauses in more detail.
Influencers with a visible audience get approached by “managers” quickly. A BBC investigation, OnlyFans: Inside the Machine (broadcast 15 June 2026), interviewed more than 60 creators in the UK. As reported by Streamlinefeed (15 June 2026), 83% of the women surveyed said they had been pressured to produce more explicit content than they originally agreed to, and managers typically took a baseline cut of 50% of gross earnings. TV Guide (15 June 2026) described cases of a 50% cut and of a manager keeping 72% of one sale.

Decide your line before your first post, write it down, and keep it. Changing it later under pressure is how many creators end up doing something they did not want to do.
| Line | What it means | Brand deal risk |
|---|---|---|
| Safe for work | Behind the scenes, tutorials, early access, paid messages | Lowest |
| Suggestive, within the law | Fashion and glamour sets, no nudity | Depends on the brand and the clause |
| Adult | Content for adults only, behind an 18+ check | Highest, and permanent once published |
A safe for work page is a real option. Fanfix, which does not allow nudity, reported passing $300 million paid to creators by June 2026, with over 60% of creator revenue from paid direct messages (Socialday, 28 July 2026, a vendor figure). Read our guide to a non nude fan page.

Fans subscribe, tip and unlock your content. You ask for a payout from your dashboard once your available balance reaches the published minimum. Each sale is pending for 30 days, the period in which refunds and most card disputes arrive, and 10% of it is held as a reserve until day 120. For a sale paid by card, the reserve is held longer, up to day 206, because our card processor keeps its own reserve on that payment for 26 weeks and it is released to you once it has been returned to us.
