To monetize TikTok followers through TikTok itself you must be 18 or over and meet each program’s bar: the Creator Rewards Program needs at least 10,000 followers, 100,000 video views in the last 30 days and videos of at least one minute; going LIVE needs 1,000 followers (may vary by region); Subscription needs 10,000 followers and 100,000 views in the past month or LIVE eligibility. Content that is sexually suggestive or shows significant body exposure is ineligible for the For You feed and can lose monetization, so many glamour and lifestyle creators earn mostly off TikTok.
For TikTok earning in general, see how to make money on TikTok. For the step by step of moving fans to a paid page, see convert TikTok followers to paying fans. This page covers the rules and the money.
| Program | Requirements on TikTok’s pages (read 2 October 2026) |
|---|---|
| Creator Rewards Program | 18 or over (19 in South Korea), Personal Account, at least 10,000 followers, at least 100,000 video views in the last 30 days, original videos at least one minute long; a video earns after 1,000 qualified For You feed views |
| LIVE and LIVE Gifts | 18 or over to go LIVE, 1,000 followers to go LIVE (“may vary across regions”), 18 or over to send or receive Gifts |
| Subscription | 18 or over, an account in good standing with at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the past calendar month, or LIVE eligibility (TikTok newsroom) |
| All monetization | “You must be 18 and older to use monetization features.” |
TikTok does not publish what the Creator Rewards Program pays per 1,000 views. Its help page says rewards are based on qualified views and “rewards per 1,000 qualified views (also known as RPM)”, without a figure, so any RPM you see quoted elsewhere is someone else’s estimate.
TikTok’s Community Guidelines (released 25 August 2026, effective 24 September 2026) say: “Some content, like significant adult body exposure or sexually suggestive behavior involving adults, is age-restricted and ineligible for the FYF.” The Accounts and Features section adds: “Content that isn’t eligible for the FYF may also be restricted from monetization.”
The Creator Rewards Program is stricter still. TikTok’s Creator Academy lists as ineligible any account where “Your account or content contains inappropriate audio, behavior or visuals, such as sexually suggestive content and excessive body exposure”, and also accounts whose “profile or account info contains personal or business contact information.” On links, the guidelines say: “If a link breaks our rules, we’ll remove it,” with temporary loss of links or, for severe violations, a ban. Offering “sexual chats or imagery” is not allowed at all.
So a creator whose videos are glamour, lingerie or try-on content can grow on TikTok and still never qualify for its payouts. Read can you promote a fan page on TikTok before you put any link in your bio: TikTok reads bios, and it is stricter than Instagram.
Do not use disguised or redirected links to slip past a review, and do not open backup accounts to get around a ban: both break platform rules and lead to permanent loss of the account.
| Followers | On TikTok | Fan page at 0.5% to 2%, $9.99, after 20% fee |
|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | LIVE Gifts possible; no Creator Rewards or Subscription | 5 to 20 fans: 5 × $7.992 = $39.96 to 20 × $7.992 = $159.84 |
| 10,000 | Creator Rewards and Subscription if you also have 100,000 views a month and content stays eligible | 50 to 200 fans: $399.60 to $1,598.40 |
| 100,000 | All programs, if content stays eligible; payouts not published | 500 to 2,000 fans: $3,996 to $15,984 |
$7.992 is $9.99 × 0.80, what a creator keeps per subscriber after OnlyFans’ 20% fee; on HerFans you keep $7.99 per $9.99 subscriber after the flat 20%. Conversion rates are planning assumptions taken from a vendor’s observations (Inrō, July 2026), and most viewers of short videos never visit a creator’s page at all, so plan near the low end. Most creators earn far less than the top of any range here; one panel based estimate puts the OnlyFans median near $180 a year. More scenarios in how many followers you need.
TikTok can remove a link, pause your links or ban an account, and its programs change. Spread your audience: Instagram (see monetizing Instagram followers), a page you own, and fans who follow you there for free. On HerFans fans can follow you before they pay, and tracked links show whether TikTok or Instagram brings the paying fans. Create your free page or read more for creators.

Each sale is pending for 30 days, the period in which refunds and most card disputes arrive, and 10% of it is held as a reserve until day 120. For a sale paid by card, the reserve is held longer, up to day 206, because our card processor keeps its own reserve on that payment for 26 weeks and it is released to you once it has been returned to us.
