TikTok’s rules are stricter than Instagram’s, and it reads your bio, hashtags and captions to judge intent. Here is the current text and what it means in practice.

Only in a very limited way: TikTok’s Community Guidelines (effective September 24, 2026) prohibit “facilitating access to sexual services, such as offering or asking for sexual acts, sexual chats or imagery, or pornography,” count posting links and directing people off-platform as trade, and judge intent from your bio, hashtags, captions and sounds. A direct link to an adult subscription page is risky, and TikTok has removed accounts for such links before. What works within the rules is safe for work content and a neutral page in your bio.
TikTok’s Community Guidelines (Released August 25, 2026, Effective September 24, 2026, read 2 October 2026) say, in their own words:
| Question | Instagram (Meta) | TikTok |
|---|---|---|
| Adult subscription link | Written rule: limited to viewers 18 and older | No such carve out; redirection to sexual content counts as trade |
| How intent is judged | Content and profile, including bio, for recommendations | Explicitly bios, hashtags, captions and sounds |
| Suggestive but legal content | Not recommended to non-followers | Age restricted and ineligible for the For You feed |
| Past enforcement | Inconsistent (Oversight Board, 2023) | Account removals for linking to OnlyFans, including through third party link pages (Rolling Stone, 2020) |
In December 2020 Rolling Stone reported a wave of removals of accounts that linked to OnlyFans, with a TikTok spokesperson saying the company does not “allow accounts that attempt to redirect traffic” to that kind of content; TikTok also confirmed that third party links were covered. The Instagram side is explained in can you put an OnlyFans link in your Instagram bio.
TikTok says: “Some content, like significant adult body exposure or sexually suggestive behavior involving adults, is age-restricted and ineligible for the FYF.” And for accounts that post a lot of it: “we may make the account and its content ineligible for the FYF and harder to find.” Content that stays eligible is the content a general audience can watch: your personality, skills, humor, styling, fitness, routines and behind the scenes, with captions and hashtags that describe exactly that. Hashtag tricks and coded words do not help, because TikTok reads captions and hashtags as evidence of intent. Buying followers or likes is itself on TikTok’s list of prohibited trade.
The lower risk setup is a bio link to a safe for work page about you, listing your public profiles, rather than a link that goes straight to an adult subscription page. Be clear about its limits: TikTok judges intent from context, and Rolling Stone reported that third party link pages did not protect accounts in 2020. The page must be honestly what it says it is. Masking the destination with redirects is not a safe workaround on any platform; Meta’s spam policy names it cloaking and prohibits it. Linktree and Beacons require adult links on the page to be labeled; see Linktree OnlyFans link not working.
