The best Passes alternative depends on what you want to sell. Passes is safe-for-work only: its guidelines ban explicit adult content, nudity and pornography, and even the sale of panties or lingerie. If you want to sell adult content, the sites like Passes that allow it are OnlyFans, Fansly, Fanvue and HerFans, which all pay creators 80% or more. If your content is safe for work, Patreon and Fanfix are the closest matches.
We run HerFans, so read this page knowing that. Every Passes detail below comes from its own FAQ, Creator Terms, community guidelines and help center, read in October 2026, and every competitor figure comes from that company’s own pages. Where a rival is the better fit, the table says so. If you are still deciding whether to join Passes at all, our Passes app review for creators covers its fees, payouts and approval rules in detail.
Passes markets itself to established creators who want to build a business from a following they already have: influencers, podcasters, athletes, coaches and public figures. It calls itself a premium, safe-for-work alternative for mainstream creators. Creators end up looking elsewhere for four reasons.
The content rule. The guidelines, effective February 19, 2025, say Passes does not allow explicit adult content, nudity or pornography, and that this includes selling panties, lingerie and other inherently sexual items. Its FAQ repeats it: strictly safe for work, all adult or pornographic content prohibited.
The application. You cannot simply sign up and sell. Passes asks you to apply with at least one active social account, verify your identity with a government ID and a live selfie, and its help center says plainly that not every application is approved.
The fee nobody can pin down. Passes’ FAQ describes a standard 80/20 split, with an option to drop to 90/10 plus a $0.30 transaction fee. Its Creator Terms, effective April 18, 2024, say it takes a 20% fee on card sales and pays your share after fees, taxes and third-party expenses. A company press release in April 2026 announced a 10% platform fee. Three of its own documents, three framings. Ask which one applies to you, in writing, before you move your audience.
Trust. Passes has 61 reviews on Trustpilot and a TrustScore of 1.8 on a claimed profile, and the six most recent reviews we read were all one star. It is also defending a lawsuit, reported by TechCrunch in March 2025, that alleges sexually explicit content of a minor was distributed on the platform; Passes has called the claims completely false. A federal judge largely denied its motion to dismiss in February 2026, according to the plaintiff’s law firm.
| What matters when you switch | Passes | HerFans |
|---|---|---|
| Nude and explicit content | No, and no lingerie or panty sales either | Yes, for verified 18+ women |
| Who can join | Apply with an active social account; not every application is approved | Open signup; a person reads your ID before you publish |
| Platform fee | 80/20 standard or 90/10 plus $0.30 (FAQ); 20% (Terms); 10% (April 2026 release) | A flat 20% on every sale type |
| Payout methods | Bank account or PayPal | Bank transfer (IBAN) or PayPal in your own name |
| Minimum payout | $50 | $10 once your ID is approved |
| Payout timing | Every 1 to 4 weeks; faster for a fee | On request, sent within 3 business days after each sale pends 30 days |
| Fee for a faster payout | +10% instant, +6.5% next business day | None |
| AI-generated creators | Not covered in what we read | Refused in our terms |
Passes does some things well. Its payout options are flexible, it pays to PayPal, and if you already run a large safe-for-work audience and want merch, memberships and paid messages under one brand, it is built for you. Our pending period is longer than its standard schedule, and we would rather you know that before you sign up than after.
Say fans spend $1,000 a month with you. This is what each platform leaves you before any bank fees, using the rate each one publishes. Passes appears twice because its own documents disagree.
| $1,000 of fan spending | You keep | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Passes at 80/20 | $800 | Standard split in its FAQ, and the 20% in its Terms |
| Passes at 90/10 | $900 less $0.30 per transaction | 100 sales of $10 would leave $870 |
| OnlyFans | $800 | Flat 20% on everything |
| Fansly | $800 | 80% written into its terms |
| Fanvue | $850 in month one, then $800 | 85% for your first month only |
| Patreon | About $841 | 10% platform fee plus about 2.9% and 30 cents per payment, on 100 pledges of $10 |
| HerFans | $800 | Flat 20% on subscriptions, posts, messages and tips |
Taking an instant payout on Passes changes the math more than the split does. At +10% for instant, $800 becomes $720 on the day you need it. Waiting 2 to 5 business days costs nothing.
Yes. OnlyFans, Fansly, Fanvue and HerFans all allow explicit content from verified adult creators, and all pay 80% or more of what fans spend. OnlyFans has the biggest paying audience, Fansly the best discovery inside the platform, Fanvue the most AI tools, and HerFans is built for women who want one published rate and a person checking every creator. None of them asks you to prove a following before you can sell.
Only in format. Both sell subscriptions, paid messages and pay-per-view posts, and both quote 20% as a standard fee. The difference is content: OnlyFans allows adult content from verified creators, while Passes bans nudity and sexual content and even lingerie sales. Passes also screens creators through an application, where OnlyFans lets any verified adult open a page.
Patreon, for most people. It has open signup, a real mobile app, a 10% platform fee for creators who joined after August 2025 plus processing, and fans who already know how to pay on it. Fanfix is the closest match to Passes itself: brand-friendly, safe for work, invite-only and paid weekly, but it does not publish its commission. See our Fanfix alternative and Patreon alternative pages for the details on each.
Still deciding between the big names? Our ranked list of the best OnlyFans alternatives puts every platform on one table, and the creator payout percentage page shows what each one keeps.
What a creator keeps, how payouts work, and who each platform suits. Figures from each company’s own pages, read September and October 2026.
| Platform | Creator keeps | Payouts | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| HerFans | 80% on subscriptions, pay-per-view, tips and paid messages | $10 minimum, on request after a 30 day pending period per sale | Women selling their own content |
| Passes (baseline) | 80/20 standard, 90/10 plus $0.30 optional | $50 minimum, every 1 to 4 weeks | Safe-for-work creators with a following |
| OnlyFans | 80% | Most methods $20 minimum | Creators bringing a big audience |
| Fansly | 80% | $20 minimum, every sale pends 7 days | Being found through tags and a For You feed |
| Fanvue | 85% in month one, then 80% | $20 minimum, no PayPal | Creators who want AI tools |
| Patreon | 90% before processing | Automatic or on request | Safe-for-work memberships |
Fees and payout terms are set by each platform and can change. Figures reflect publicly listed terms; check each site for current rates.
A flat 20% on everything, open signup with a government ID and live camera check, every creator reviewed by a person and AI personas refused. Payouts from $10 to an IBAN or PayPal in your name after a 30 day pending period per sale. Honest drawback: a newer and smaller fan base than OnlyFans.
Flat 20%, the largest fan base and the name fans already search. Almost no discovery inside the platform, so you promote it yourself, the same as on Passes.
80% flat in its terms, tag search and a For You feed. Every sale pends seven days, and an account idle for 12 months pays $5 a month from its earnings.
85% in the first month and 80% after, a $20 minimum and a 1% fee only on crypto payouts. The platform most open to AI-generated creators.
10% platform fee for creators who joined after August 2025, plus processing, and open signup with no follower bar. Adult/18+ pages must keep nudity behind the paywall.
Bank or PayPal payouts from $50, a free 2 to 5 day payout option and tools built for influencers with an audience. No nudity or lingerie, an application to get in, and fee terms that differ between its FAQ, its Terms and its press release.
Nude sets, explicit clips and spicy paid messages are allowed for verified 18+ women, with consent on file for anyone else in your content.
Keep 80% on subscriptions, bundles, paid posts, paid messages and tips, the same figure on every page.
Ask for a payout from $10 to an IBAN or PayPal in your own name, with no fee for the transfer.
Sign up in seconds with email, pick a creator name, and set up your profile. No upfront cost.
Upload photos and videos, set a monthly subscription price, and lock premium posts behind pay-per-view.
Fans subscribe, tip and unlock your content. You ask for a payout from your dashboard once your available balance reaches the published minimum. Each sale is pending for 30 days, the period in which refunds and most card disputes arrive, and 10% of it is held as a reserve until day 120. For a sale paid by card, the reserve is held longer, up to day 206, because our card processor keeps its own reserve on that payment for 26 weeks and it is released to you once it has been returned to us.
