A subscription is the most misunderstood purchase on any creator platform, because people assume it covers everything and it never does. Here is exactly what a month includes, what stays priced separately, and what happens at the end of it.

Subscribing buys access to a creator's subscriber-only feed, plus her inbox: only subscribers can message her. It does not cover paid posts, priced attachments in messages or tips, which stay separately priced on every platform including this one. Paid by card, it renews every month until you cancel; paid any other way, it ends with the month you paid for, with a link to renew by email. The date sits beside it in your list of subscriptions.
One thing to be clear about, because it is where surprises come from: a subscription paid by card renews every month until you cancel, and we email you 3 days before each renewal with the amount and the date. Paid any other way, it ends with the month you paid for, and we email you before it ends with a link to renew. The date is in your account. If you cancel, you keep the month you have already paid for, so nothing you paid for is taken away when you press it.
| Included in the month | Priced separately |
|---|---|
| Her subscriber-only posts, old and new | Pay-per-view posts, which are per-item purchases |
| Everything she posts while it runs | Priced attachments she sends in messages |
| Messaging her, which only subscribers can do | Anything she makes to your request, which is its own paid message |
| No price per message for as long as it runs | Tips, which are always optional |
Every platform works roughly this way, and the split is not a trick: a subscription pays for the feed she makes for her subscribers, while a single purchase pays for one specific thing. Confusing the two is the most common source of disappointment in the whole category.
The floor is $4.99 a month and creators set their own price above it, commonly $4.99 to $15.99. Two ways it can be less:
And one way it can be free: a trial link she publishes, which grants her paid feed for a set number of days at no charge. Those are covered in free trial links explained.
A monthly subscription paid by card renews on the date shown beside it in your account, and we email you 3 days before. Paid any other way, it ends on that date unless you renew it from the link we email you before it ends. If you have cancelled, or you do not renew, nothing is charged: access runs to the end of the paid month and then stops, and you go back to her public posts. A bundle runs its months consecutively, is not renewed, and ends when they are used up.
Two details worth knowing. Cancelling early does not lose you the rest of the month you paid for, and you can undo a cancellation without paying again. And anything you unlocked individually stays yours after access ends: unlocking is a purchase, subscribing is a one month rental. That difference is the argument for unlocking a specific item you want to keep, even when you are subscribed anyway.
Do the arithmetic rather than guessing. If her subscription is $9.99 and her paid posts unlock at $6, then wanting two items in a month already makes the subscription cheaper, and wanting five makes it three times cheaper. Add the messaging: only subscribers can message her, so for anyone planning an actual conversation the subscription is the way in, and that is often worth more than the feed.
Subscribing is a poor choice in exactly two cases: you want one specific item and nothing else, in which case unlock it; or you have not checked whether she still posts, in which case check first. A profile whose newest public post is three months old will not suddenly fill your feed because you paid.
A subscription paid by card renews every month until you cancel; paid any other way, it ends with the paid month, with a link to renew by email. The date beside it in your subscriptions list is when it renews or ends, and we email you before it.
Only subscribers can message her, and there is no price per message, which is often worth more than the feed itself.
Access runs to the end of the paid month, and a cancellation can be undone without paying again.

A subscription gives you a month of her posts. Paid by card, it renews every month until you cancel, and we email you 3 days before each renewal; paid any other way, it ends with the month you paid for, and we email you a link to renew. A single post, a paid message and a tip are single purchases, paid at the moment you buy.
