How Much Does OnlyFans Take? The 20% Cut, What You Keep and When You Get Paid

OnlyFans takes 20% of everything. Here is what that cut applies to, what it leaves you on real numbers, how long the money takes to arrive, and what an agency takes on top of it.

OnlyFans takes a flat 20% of everything a creator earns, so the creator keeps 80%. The cut applies identically to subscriptions, tips, pay-per-view unlocks and live streams. There is no volume discount, no higher tier, and no promotional rate: a creator earning $200 a month and one earning $200,000 a month pay the same percentage.

You can verify the 20% against the company’s own accounts rather than taking anyone’s word for it. Fenix International, the OnlyFans parent, reported FY2024 gross merchandise value of $7.22 billion and $5.80 billion paid out to creators. That is 80.3% reaching creators, which is exactly what a flat 20% platform fee produces at scale.

What the 20% actually comes off

Everything. This is worth stating plainly because creators often assume tips or customs are treated differently, and they are not.

The 20% is an all-in rate: payment processing is already absorbed, so there is no second fee that appears later. That makes it simpler than platforms such as Patreon, which quote a lower platform fee and then charge card processing separately on top.

What you actually take home

You earn OnlyFans keeps 20% You keep On a flat 10% fee
$500$100$400$450
$1,000$200$800$900
$2,000$400$1,600$1,800
$5,000$1,000$4,000$4,500

At $2,000 a month the gap between a 20% fee and a 10% fee is $200 a month, or $2,400 over a year, for identical work at identical prices. The fee percentage is one of the few lines in a creator’s income that you can change without changing anything you do.

How long before the money reaches you?

Earnings sit in a pending balance for roughly seven days on a rolling basis before they become withdrawable. Once you request a withdrawal, a US bank transfer typically lands in three to five business days. So the realistic gap between a fan paying and the money being in your account is around a week and a half, and longer over weekends and holidays.

The historic minimum withdrawal was $20, though OnlyFans has relaxed the threshold for many regions and supports automatic withdrawals. Payments appear from Fenix Internet LLC rather than from OnlyFans, which is what shows on your bank statement.

What an agency takes on top

If you work with a management agency, its percentage is charged after OnlyFans has already taken its 20%, and agency rates commonly run 30% to 50%. On a $1,000 month with a 40% agency deal, OnlyFans takes $200, the agency takes 40% of the remaining $800, which is $320, and you are left with $480. That is a 52% total take rate, and it surprises creators who budgeted for 20%.

Agency percentages are negotiable and platform fees are not. If you are weighing an offer, read how OnlyFans agencies work and what they charge before signing anything, and compare the published rate for every platform in our creator payout percentage comparison.

Why creators choose HerFans

Keep $90 of every $100

A flat 10% instead of 20% doubles what stays with you out of the platform’s share. On $2,000 a month that is $2,400 a year, for the same content, the same subscribers and the same prices.

One rate, no exceptions

The fee is the same on subscriptions, tips, pay-per-view and paid messages. There is no product where the rate quietly changes and no promotional window that expires and resets you to a worse number.

Fees you can predict

Processing is included, so the percentage you read is the percentage that comes out. Nothing is added at withdrawal, and there is no monthly seller plan to cover before you break even.

Frequently asked questions

How much does OnlyFans take from creators?
OnlyFans takes a flat 20% of everything a creator earns, leaving the creator with 80%. It applies equally to subscriptions, tips, pay-per-view and live streams, with no volume discounts. Fenix International’s FY2024 accounts corroborate it: $5.80 billion of $7.22 billion in gross value went to creators.
What percentage do OnlyFans take in 2026?
Twenty percent, unchanged. OnlyFans has never run tiered or promotional creator rates, so every creator on the platform is on the same split regardless of size or tenure. The 20% is all-in and already includes payment processing, so nothing further is deducted at withdrawal.
Does OnlyFans take 20% of tips?
Yes. Tips are treated exactly like every other form of earnings and the same 20% comes off. A $50 tip leaves you $40. This catches creators out because tips feel like a gift from a fan rather than a transaction, but the platform makes no distinction.
How long does it take to get paid on OnlyFans?
Earnings pend for roughly seven days on a rolling basis before you can withdraw them, and a US bank transfer then takes about three to five business days. Plan for around a week and a half between a fan paying and the money being spendable.
Are there any hidden OnlyFans fees?
No hidden platform fees. The 20% is all-in and includes payment processing. The costs that surprise creators come from elsewhere: agency commissions charged on top of the platform cut, chargebacks that reverse the gross sale, and self-employment tax, which is not withheld for you.
Which platform takes the smallest cut?
Among mainstream creator platforms, HerFans at a flat 10% and Patreon at 10% before processing are the lowest. Patreon adds card processing separately and does not permit explicit content. Most competitors, including Fansly, Fanvue and LoyalFans, sit at the same 20% as OnlyFans.
