Arousr Review for Chat Hosts and What It Pays
Free to join, one flat fee on what you sell, and no monthly seller subscription.
Arousr is a legitimate sexting platform that pays chat hosts $0.25 for every text they send in a paid session, $0.70 a minute on voice calls, 50% of what members spend on video calls, photos and clips, and 40% of tips. It pays weekly by direct deposit or bank wire and brings the customers to you. The cost is control: you may not take a member anywhere else, and Arousr can close your account for any reason without notice.
We run HerFans, a platform where women sell subscriptions and paid chat from their own page, so we compete with Arousr for the same hosts. Every figure here was read on Arousr’s own rates page, host page, FAQ and performer agreement in October 2026. This review is written for the woman deciding whether to apply, not for the member deciding whether to buy credits.
How much does Arousr pay chat hosts?
Arousr publishes a rate card for hosts, which is more than most sexting sites do. This is all of it.
| What you do | What Arousr pays you | Note from its rates page |
|---|---|---|
| Send a text in a paid session | $0.25 per message, fixed | Was $0.15 before 21 August 2023 |
| Voice call | $0.70 a minute, fixed | You do not set the price |
| Video call | 50% of the credits spent | You set the member’s rate |
| Sell photos and clips | 50% of the credits spent | Paid content must show nudity |
| Receive a tip | 40% of the credits spent | The lowest share on the card |
| Roulette video, first minute | $0.50 during Roulette Hours, $0 outside them | The member gets that minute free |
| Roulette video, extended minutes | $2.40 a minute | A second table on the same page says $1.60 during Roulette Hours |
| Weekly engagement bonus | $150, $125, $100, $75, $50 | Top five hosts only |
| Refer a member | $1 a signup plus $20 on first purchase | Or $50 per first purchase, or 20% of sales |
The headline is the text rate. A quarter per message sounds small until you count messages: a busy chat can run 60 to 100 texts an hour from your side, which is $15 to $25 for that hour if he keeps replying. He has to keep replying, because Arousr stops you after three messages in a row with no answer. That rule protects the member’s balance. It also means a slow typer on the other end cuts your hourly rate in half.
What you cannot see is your share. Arousr’s FAQ tells members that each host message costs them 14 credits, and it sells credits in packs of 300, 600, 1,000 and 2,000. The dollar price of a pack only shows inside the app. So nobody reading the public pages can say whether $0.25 is a third of what he paid or half. On the lines where Arousr does state a percentage, it is 50% for content and video, and 40% for tips.

Is Arousr legit for hosts?
Yes, in the sense that matters first: it is a real, long-running business that verifies hosts and pays them. Every applicant gives a government ID and a verification selfie, and then passes a second check by an outside ID verification company. The site states that all hosts are 18 or over with ID on file. Its host page says you are paid weekly, for the previous week’s earnings, by direct deposit or bank wire. Host reviews on Trustpilot, where the profile carries a little over 300 reviews, repeatedly describe payouts as on time.
Three things on the host page will rule some women out before they apply. Your face must be visible in every application picture, and Arousr says it rejects anyone who hides it behind a phone, mask or glasses. Paid content must show nudity. And picture quality is judged: dark or grainy photos are refused however good you look in them.
What the Arousr performer agreement says
You accept the performer agreement when you click through to the application. Most hosts never read it. These are the clauses that decide how the job feels six months in.
| Clause | What it says | What it means for a host |
|---|---|---|
| Termination | Arousr may modify, suspend or terminate your access for any reason or no reason at all, without prior notice | Your account and your regulars can disappear in a day |
| Off-platform contact | No personal contact details and no other payment methods; every service must be paid in Arousr credits | You cannot move a buyer anywhere, ever |
| Monitoring | Chat sessions are programmatically monitored and flagged accounts are closed without appeal | One careless message can end it |
| Content license | An unconditional and unlimited license to use, reuse, publish and republish what you upload | Your photos can be used in its advertising |
| Status | Not an employee, agent or contractor; you report and pay your own taxes | No wage, no hours, no benefits |
| Message cap | No more than 3 messages without a reply from the member | You are paid only while he keeps answering |
None of this is unusual for a chat marketplace, and Arousr explains its reasoning plainly: it pays for the advertising that brings members to you, so it does not want you walking them out of the door. That is a fair trade if you have no audience. It is a poor one once you have twenty regulars, because those twenty are worth more than any single site and you are contractually unable to keep them.
Arousr compared with other paid chat sites
Here is how Arousr’s pay sits beside the sites hosts usually weigh it against. Where a company publishes no rate, the cell says so.
| Platform | Paid text or message | Tips | Who owns the buyer |
|---|---|---|---|
| Arousr | $0.25 per text you send | 40% | Arousr; taking him elsewhere closes your account |
| SextPanther | Not published; models report about 60% | Reported 80% | The site, though you may promote your profile |
| Phrendly | $0.35 per reply, no nudity | 90% of gifts | The site |
| NiteFlirt | 70% of paid mail | About 70% | The site |
| HerFans | 80% of priced photos, clips and per-minute chat | 80% | You; subscribers follow your page |
Arousr and Phrendly pay per message, which rewards volume. NiteFlirt and SextPanther pay a share of a price you set, which rewards regulars who will pay more for you in particular. If you are comparing the marketplaces, our list of sites like SextPanther goes through each one, and SextPanther’s payout terms get their own article because the company publishes none.
What an Arousr week looks like in dollars
Take a host who works 15 hours in a week. She sends 900 paid texts, takes 60 minutes of voice calls, sells $80 worth of clips and receives $50 in tips.
- 900 texts at $0.25 is $225.
- 60 voice minutes at $0.70 is $42.
- $80 of clips at 50% is $40.
- $50 of tips at 40% is $20.
That is $327 for the week, or about $21.80 an hour, before tax. You are self-employed, so set aside money for self-employment tax and keep records: 52 weekly deposits are easy to lose track of, and when you file it helps to convert your bank statements into a spreadsheet and total the deposits against what your dashboard says you earned.
The tip line is the one to look at. A member who sends you $50 because he likes you has paid Arousr $30 of it. On a fan page that same $50 pays you $40.
Who Arousr suits and who should skip it
Arousr suits a woman who has no following, is comfortable showing her face and nudity, types fast, and wants buyers supplied from the first shift. For her, a fixed quarter per text with weekly pay is a straightforward way to start, and many hosts stay for years.
It suits you less if you want to stay faceless, if you would rather not sell nude content, or if you already have people who pay for your attention. It also suits you less the better you get. A host who builds regulars on Arousr is building them for Arousr.
Keeping your regulars on a page you control
The alternative to a marketplace is a page of your own. On HerFans your subscribers message you, you put a price from $5 to $500 on any photo or clip you send, and you can charge by the minute for live text chat, next to a monthly subscription and pay-per-view posts. The fee is a flat 20% on all of it, tips included, and the pricing page shows the same number as your dashboard. Signup is open to women 18 and over with a government ID, read by a person, and you do not have to show your face in what you sell.
Be clear about the trade. HerFans does not buy traffic and hand you members the way Arousr does, there are no voice or video calls, and each sale waits 30 days before you can withdraw it from $10. Arousr’s weekly pay is faster. What you get is ownership: the fans subscribe to you, and the rate is 80% on a tip instead of 40%.
Some women run both for a while, taking Arousr shifts for income today and building a subscription page with the audience they grow on social media. If you came here because a chat site you relied on has gone dark, our guide to MyGirlFund alternatives compares seven places to rebuild, and how to make money sexting covers pricing for texts, media and chat on any of them.
