Fanvue is not only AI, but it is the one large subscription site built to welcome AI creators, and fully AI generated accounts sit on it next to real people. Every AI account must carry an AI tag in its bio, and Fanvue’s help center says it will not refund a subscription on the grounds that a labeled creator is AI. If you only want to pay real people, use a site that refuses AI personas outright. HerFans is one: creators are verified real women, every upload is checked for signs of image generation, and a person answers every problem with a purchase within 5 business days.
This page is written for fans, the people paying, not for creators choosing where to sell. Everything about Fanvue below comes from its own help center, read in September 2026. We run HerFans, a competing site, so weigh that; we have tried to be exact about where Fanvue is the better choice too.
No. Fanvue hosts real people and AI creators side by side. Its help center describes three kinds of account: human creators, fully AI creators whose photos, videos, chat messages and sometimes voice are generated, and “AI enhanced” creators, real people who use AI tools alongside their own content. AI creators are, in Fanvue’s words, “a fully recognised and verified category”. They pass the same verification as human creators, so a verified badge tells you an account is accountable, not that a person is in the pictures.
What makes Fanvue different from other sites is the welcome. Its policy calls it “open to and supportive of creative users who wish to utilise AI-generated media”, and it also allows deepfakes and face swaps as long as the real model behind the body is verified. Every AI post has to pass what Fanvue calls a Reasonable Person’s Test, reviewed by three or more moderators, and AI creators must never tell fans they are a real person, in posts or in chat.
No, and nobody outside Fanvue can tell you the exact split, because Fanvue does not publish how many of its creators are AI. What you can say with certainty is that an AI account is not a fringe case there. It has its own label, its own policy page and its own help articles, and the most visible third party sites about Fanvue are directories and guides for AI models. If you browse Fanvue’s discovery pages expecting only real women, expect to find labeled AI accounts among them.
Read the bio before you subscribe. Fanvue says it is required by law to label AI creator accounts, and every AI creator shows an AI tag in the profile bio. Its disclosure rule also allows the notice to appear in a post caption or as a watermark on the media, so check those too. If an account looks generated and carries no label, Fanvue asks fans to email it the username so it can look into it.
The harder case is the AI enhanced creator. A real person who uses AI tools on some of her images is a different thing from an AI persona, and the bio tag is built around AI creators, not around every retouched photo. If you want only unedited, camera made content, the label alone will not settle it.
Usually not. Fanvue’s help center is direct about this: subscribing to an AI creator is a purchase of access to content, its standard non refundable policy applies (section 3.12 of its terms), and all fans are required to check a creator’s bio before subscribing. If the AI label was visible when you subscribed, Fanvue says it is unable to refund you on the basis that the creator is AI. The one opening is an unlabeled account, which you can report.
That is the practical reason this page exists. On a site that allows AI personas, the burden of spotting one is on you, and a mistake is not refundable. On HerFans the question does not arise, you can ask for a refund of any purchase within 30 days, and if something is wrong with a purchase, you report it next to the purchase and a person answers within 5 business days. Our refund policy spells out exactly when we refund and where the money goes.
The big platforms have split three ways: allow AI personas and label them, allow AI content only with a caption, or refuse AI personas. Here is where each one stands.
| Platform | Fully AI creator accounts | How AI is disclosed | Refund if you wanted a real person |
|---|---|---|---|
| HerFans | Not allowed. Refused or removed | Nothing to disclose: every upload is checked for signs of image generation | Refund for a technical problem or an unauthorised payment, a person answers within 5 business days |
| Fanvue | Allowed and verified as their own category | An AI tag in the creator’s bio, required by law | No refund on the basis that a labeled creator is AI |
| OnlyFans | Content must follow its Terms of Service | Each AI post captioned #ai or #AIGenerated | No refund button; its terms bar fans from “unjustified” refund requests |
| Fanplace | Allowed: its terms say creators may upload AI generated content | Fans must accept AI content to open an account at all | All purchases final and non-refundable |
| Fansly | Photorealistic AI reported banned since June 2025 | Reported: AI note in bio and #ai tags on posts | Not published |
OnlyFans’ position is in its own Terms of Service, which say AI generated content “must be clearly and conspicuously captioned as AI Generated Content with a signifier such as #ai, or #AIGenerated.” Creator guides widely report that OnlyFans also requires AI content to depict the verified account holder, which rules out a pure AI persona, but that line is not in the public terms we read, so treat it as reported. Fansly’s ban on photorealistic AI is likewise reported by creator guides; its terms page did not load for us. Fanplace goes furthest the other way: its Terms and Conditions tell anyone who does not wish to consume AI generated content not to create an account, and every purchase there is final. Our Fanplace review covers the rest of its terms.
Labels help, but they only work when creators follow the rules. These checks take a couple of minutes and work on any site, including ours.
| What to check | Where | What a real creator usually shows |
|---|---|---|
| The bio | Top of the profile, before you subscribe | No AI tag, and no line such as “virtual”, “digital model” or “AI companion” |
| Video, not only photos | Free posts, reels, trailers | Several clips where hands, jewelry, tattoos and the room stay the same from frame to frame |
| Posting history | Oldest posts on the profile | Months of history that looks like one person’s life, not a batch uploaded in one week |
| Details that repeat | Across a dozen photos | The same scar, mole, tattoo or ring, in the same place every time |
| A small, specific request | A paid message or custom request | A photo holding an object you named, delivered in a normal time |
| Where else she exists | Her linked X, Instagram or Reddit | Older accounts with the same face, not one created the month the page opened |
None of these is proof on its own. Image generators have become good at single portraits and still struggle with consistency across many pictures and across moving video, so the more material you compare, the more reliable the answer. A creator who happily does a small custom request is the strongest sign of all. If you are new to paying creators, our guide to whether it is safe to buy content online covers the rest of what to check before a first purchase.
If the reason you are leaving Fanvue is AI, the answer depends on what you want instead. For the biggest roster of real people, OnlyFans is still the default, though AI content is allowed there with a caption and discovery is poor. For a site where AI personas are refused outright and verification is part of joining, HerFans is built that way: every creator is a real woman who passed a government ID and live camera check, and anything the check cannot confirm is decided by a person. Our wider guide to OnlyFans alternatives for fans ranks the rest on what you can see before you pay.
Be clear about the trade. HerFans is newer and smaller than Fanvue, it is for women creators only, and if you actually enjoy AI companions, Fanvue is the better place for them because it labels them honestly. If you are weighing Fanvue from the creator side instead, read our full Fanvue review.
Judged on AI policy and on what a paying fan is protected by, not on what a creator keeps.
| Platform | AI personas | Your protection | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| HerFans | Refused, every upload checked | Published refund policy, a person answers every report | Fans who only want verified real women |
| OnlyFans | AI posts captioned #ai | No refund button for fans | The biggest roster of real creators |
| Fansly | Photorealistic AI reported banned | Not published | Fans who browse by tags |
| Fanvue | Allowed, AI tag in bio | No refund because a labeled creator is AI | Fans who want AI companions, clearly labeled |
Fees and payout terms are set by each platform and can change. Figures reflect publicly listed terms; check each site for current rates.
Creator accounts must belong to a real woman who is the person shown in the content. AI generated personas, virtual characters and photographs of people who do not exist are refused or removed, and every uploaded image is checked automatically for signs of image generation. Joining as a creator takes a government ID and a live camera check.
For you, the paid side is four things, a monthly subscription, a paid post, a paid message and a tip, and each one has a way to report a problem, answered by a person within 5 business days. The honest limit is size: the catalogue is smaller than the big sites.
If the person you want is on OnlyFans, use OnlyFans. Its terms allow AI generated content only when every such post is captioned #ai or #AIGenerated, so read captions as well as bios. Discovery is weak by design, so most fans arrive with a name already in mind.
Creator guides report that Fansly banned photorealistic AI content in June 2025 and asks for AI disclosure in bios and tags. Its tag search makes browsing easier than on OnlyFans. We could not read its terms directly, so check the current policy yourself if AI is your main concern.
Fanvue is the honest choice for fans who like AI companions: AI accounts are verified and labeled, and the rules forbid them to claim to be real. It is the wrong choice if you want a real person and do not want to audit every bio, because a labeled AI subscription is not refunded.
No AI personas, no virtual characters and no photographs of people who do not exist. Accounts built on them are refused or removed.
Every uploaded image is checked for signs of image generation, and anything the check cannot confirm is decided by a person.
Next to every purchase your purchases page has Report a problem with this purchase. Within 30 days you can simply choose I want a refund. A person answers within 5 business days, and after 30 days we refund if the problem is ours or the payment was not yours.
