How to earn promoting creators on Bluesky
Bluesky recommendations can travel through conversations, follows and custom feeds. Choose a topic that genuinely matches the creator's public work rather than treating every feed as advertising space. Make your identity and affiliate relationship clear, and write a post that still makes sense when seen outside your profile.
Write for the people in a conversation or feed
A custom feed helps readers find a subject, but appearing in it does not mean its curators endorse your recommendation. Read any published guidance from feed organisers and respect community expectations in replies. Describe a concrete public project or skill, with permission for any media you reuse. Do not add unrelated tags or repeat the same promotional reply under many accounts. Keep your profile description honest and avoid impersonating a creator. Readers should be able to tell that you are recommending someone else's work rather than speaking on the creator's behalf.
Respect labels and moderation without hiding the destination
Bluesky has policies for adult content and labelling, and moderation settings can affect what people see. A label does not establish permission for every commercial post or destination. Use only SFW text and media for this approach and check the current rules for both the recommendation and its link. Platform rules change, so read the latest Bluesky guidelines before publishing. Avoid sexual previews, unsolicited direct messages, misleading labels and earnings promises. Do not repost removed promotion from another account or disguise a restricted destination. If a conversation is not open to commercial recommendations, contribute without the promotion.
Choose the offer and place the right link
Choose a creator link for a focused public recommendation, or your general link for a permitted introduction to HerFans. HerFans registration is for adults aged 18 or older and needs only an email address and a code. Use the single /affiliate dashboard to manage your promotion. The /affiliate/offers list shows creators who have enabled their own programme. Each creator chooses a rate of 10, 20, 30, 40 or 50 percent of the creator's share of sales. Your dashboard provides a general HerFans link and links to specific creators. Choose the destination that matches your recommendation and publish it only where the channel permits that destination. A fan is attributed through the last qualifying click within 30 days. Revenue share continues for the lifetime of the fan you bring under the programme terms.
Understand the share before estimating commission
The affiliate rate applies to the creator share after the platform takes its 20 percent fee, never to the full purchase price. For a calculation example, suppose 8 fans each spend an average of 30 USD monthly. The creator receives 80 percent, or 24.00 USD per fan. At a 50 percent rate, your commission is 12.00 USD per fan and 96.00 USD monthly across those fans. This is an arithmetic example, not an earnings promise.
Separate recorded commission from available money
Visibility in a Bluesky feed and commission availability are different outcomes, so review attributed purchases rather than assuming discovery means income. Commission waits 60 days before becoming available. A payout requires at least 50 USD and a one time identity verification, using an IBAN or PayPal account in your own name. Refunds and chargebacks reverse the associated commission. Buying through your own links leads to account blocking. Never describe recorded commission as money ready to withdraw. Review your /affiliate dashboard before planning a payout, and keep your recommendations accurate when a creator changes what is publicly available. To promote creators responsibly, identify your affiliate relationship and explain revenue share without promising income.

How to get started
Check the publishing space
Check Bluesky policies and any published guidance for the conversation or custom feed.
Select a creator programme
Join with your email address and code if you are 18+, open /affiliate/offers, review the creator rate and copy the appropriate link from /affiliate.
Prepare an honest recommendation
Write an authorised SFW post with accurate attribution, a clear link destination and affiliate disclosure.
Review the outcome
Read responses and moderation decisions, then check /affiliate without equating reposts with qualifying purchases.
Questions and answers
Does appearing in a custom feed mean the feed endorses my link?
No. Discovery through a feed does not imply endorsement or permission. Follow the platform rules and any guidance published by its organisers.
Can I use any link that opens correctly?
No. Technical access does not establish permission. Follow the channel rules for both the post and its destination, and use your general HerFans link or a specific creator link only where allowed.
How long can a referred fan generate commission?
Attribution uses the last qualifying click within 30 days. The programme provides lifetime revenue share from the fan you bring, subject to its terms. A click alone does not mean a purchase.
When can I request a payout?
Commission becomes available after 60 days. The minimum payout is 50 USD, after one time identity verification, to an IBAN or PayPal account in your name. Refunds and chargebacks reverse commission.
