X can connect a short recommendation with an ongoing conversation. Choose a clear public topic rather than chasing every trending subject. Readers should understand which creator you recommend, what they can see publicly and why your link may generate affiliate commission.
Treat the profile and the post as one introduction
Give your profile a clear description so a reader can understand who is making the recommendation. Write about a creator's public projects, photography or creative process with permission to reuse any media. A short thread can explain the topic before introducing a permitted link. Keep each post meaningful on its own because readers may encounter it outside the thread. Do not tag unrelated accounts, copy identical replies under popular posts or use trending topics that have no connection to the recommendation. Those tactics interrupt conversations rather than answer an existing interest.
Check sensitive media and commercial rules separately
X has policies concerning adult content and sensitive media, including restrictions on placement and labelling. Understand the share before estimating commission
The affiliate rate applies to the creator share after the platform takes its 20 percent fee, never to the full purchase price. For a calculation example, suppose 16 fans each spend an average of 20 USD monthly. The creator receives 80 percent, or 16.00 USD per fan. At a 20 percent rate, your commission is 3.20 USD per fan and 51.20 USD monthly across those fans. This is an arithmetic example, not an earnings promise.
Separate recorded commission from available money
Reposts on X can outlive the original conversation, so keep your disclosure attached whenever you republish an approved recommendation. Commission waits 60 days before becoming available. A payout requires at least 50 USD and a one time identity verification, using an IBAN or PayPal account in your own name. Refunds and chargebacks reverse the associated commission. Buying through your own links leads to account blocking. Never describe recorded commission as money ready to withdraw. Review your /affiliate dashboard before planning a payout, and keep your recommendations accurate when a creator changes what is publicly available.
